  • Minesweeper

    The Minesweeper is a computer puzzle game whose aim is to locate mines hidden in a virtual field with the only indication the number of mines in adjacent areas.

    Many versions are free, but the best known is the one provided with Microsoft Windows. This particular version, if not invent the concept, popularized, and the designation Minesweeper often identifies the precise version and not the general principle of the game

    The game's graphics have not changed in Windows since version 3.0 on Windows, but since Windows Vista graphics have been improved, including offering an option to replace mine with flowers.

    Some boxes have a number, this number indicates the mines add up all the surrounding squares. Thus, if a box has the number 3 means that the eight boxes that are around (if not in a corner or edge) are 3 and 5 mine-free. If found a box with no number indicates that none of the neighboring cells is mine and these are automatically discovered. If click a box with a mine with the wrong button, you lose the game.

    You can place a questionkmark in the boxes to the player thinks that there are mines to help identify which are nearby.

    The game also has a system of records for each of the four levels indicated in the shortest time to finish the game. The levels are (for new versions):

    * Beginner level: 9 × 9 squares, and 10 mines.

    * Intermediate: 16 × 16 square and 40 mines.

    * Expert Level: 16 × 30 cells and 99 mines.

    * Custom Level: In this case the user customize your game by choosing the number of mines and the size of the grid

    In versions prior to Windows 2000 the only beginner screen is 8 × 8, and was enlarged to prevent the likelihood of clicking on a mine was the same as at the intermediate level: 10 / (8 × 8) = 10 / 64 = 40/256 = 40 / (16 × 16)

    You can also customize the difficulty of the game as the screen size and the number of mines.
